Slim out of WSOP event 44 somewhere around 300 th place out of over 700 he was low stacked and his suited KQ ran into JJ

Amarillo Slim Preston, has been eliminated after a tremendous showing in this event. In his final hand, Charles Wood opened with a raise, Slim reraised, before Wood pushed all in. Slim exclaimed "You've got to be kidding!" before declaring "It's getting late and the boss has got a date! I call!" Slim showed JJ but was in trouble as Wood tabled QQ. The board ran out 247Q8 and Wood hits a set to eliminate Amarillo Slim in roughly 90th place. As he stood to exit the floor, the entire Brasilia Room stood and acknowledged Slim's departure with a generous round of applause. Slim removed his hat, waved to the room saying "Thank you everybody" before exiting the tournament area.

Amarillo slim finds himself in middle of the pack after day one of the WSOP Seniors event with 33500 in chips. Day one of this Seniors World Championship started with 2,218 players hungry to take their place in WSOP history. History was made as this event will mark the largest turnout for a seniors event ever. 220 players will tomorrow to take their shot at a payday, and possibly a final table.
